Albany Park Furniture Review: High Quality at Half The Price

I’m really excited to write this post.

Brands like Albany Park furniture are really making a big difference to how we shop for furniture these days.

They are a direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand that promises high quality, beautifully made, and reasonably priced furniture, or more specifically, sofas.

It’s a mouth-watering prospect to own a sofa of this quality at this price point!

In this post, I wanted to share my Albany Park furniture review and hope that in the process, it will provide you with a great alternative to sofa shopping at big box brands.

Types of furniture offered by Albany Park

Albany Park specializes in sofas and similar products. They do not carry the full range of furniture such as beds, tables, or drawers.

Construction and design

The range of Albany Park furniture is well-made, durable, and fairly priced.

The pieces are available in a selection of quality materials.

For example, the cushions are made from premium foam wrapped in 100% polyester fiber.

On top of that, they’re held together by a solid wood frame that can easily be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Each one of their sofas is made to hold up to everyday wear and tear—and their assembly needs no special tools or expertise.

In fact, 15 minutes is all it takes to set one up.

The sofas are also designed to accommodate pets without leaving any permanent stains or scratches on the fabric.

Applying a layer of Scotchgard can further enhance the ability of the sofa to repel unwanted stains or spills.

When it comes to the choice of design, there are many beautiful colors to choose from for the fabric, as well as the legs of the sofa.

They have also recently introduced a new collection, Ẹkáàbọ̀. Now, you can buy your favorite sofa in bright African inspired colors!

However, nothing’s perfect.

It is not possible to customize a piece to your specifications in terms of features such as under-seat storage, attached lamps, or shelves.

There is no modular selection, which is actually great as it does not complicate the selection process.

Also, there may be some slight inconsistencies between different fabrics, but these minor issues don’t significantly detract from the value you receive for each component.

Durability and comfort

Durability and comfort are the two most important factors when it comes to buying a sofa.

You don’t want something that’s going to fall apart after a few years or something that feels like you’re sitting on a brick.

With Albany Park, you can choose from 3 different models that provide a different seating experience each:

The Albany: Medium Firm
The Park: Medium Plush
The Kova: Cloud Soft

The fabric is made of 100% polyester that has a very soft feel to it.

The cushions are stuffed with premium foam for durability as well as comfort.

This type of filling is usually found in couches that cost thousands because it’s durable but firm, giving you a good amount of support without feeling like you’re being held down by rocks.

My one small complaint is that it would be nice if you could choose the comfort level for each of the models. I love The Kova, but I’m not the biggest fan of cloud-soft sofas.

Size and space

Well, there’s really not a lot to discuss here as the dimensions of sofas are pretty standard unless you are going for a custom-made option.

What’s important is to get a sense of how big a piece of furniture to ensure that it will fit in your home and take up less space than you think. Be sure to ask yourself:

What do I want it for?
How many people will be using it?
Will it be used in any specific way (eating on, lounging, sitting)?
How much room does it take up?
Is there enough room for what I want to do with this piece?
Will I have to squeeze to walk around it?

Shipping

Albany Park furniture offers free shipping on all its products to 48 contiguous states and D.C at this moment, right to your doorstep.

When you checkout, you will get an estimation of how long your order will take to reach you.

You will also receive a tracking number so that you know where the order is at each step of the delivery process.

In general, it takes no more than a few days to receive your order (exceptions do happen, especially during peak season, fall).

Unfortunately, they do not have scheduled deliveries nor expedited deliveries.

Warranty and returns

When buying furniture, it’s important to consider the warranty and return policies of any store you’re considering.

These days, manufacturers really have to step up their game as it gets so competitive. That is music to us consumers!

Most sofas will have a 30-day return policy, but the exact time frame may vary and may be limited to certain parts of the country.

Some stores also require that you take the piece back within three days in order for you to get a full refund.

If a store doesn’t offer these guarantees, it may still be worth considering—but this might be an indication that they are more likely to be selling lower-quality pieces.

The same applies if any part of your sofa or other furniture has a shorter than average guarantee (one year or less).

These policies can affect whether or not you’ll be able to exchange your item later on if something breaks after receiving it.

With Albany Park, all of their products come with a Lifetime warranty.

If your furniture is defective in workmanship or materials during the first ten years of ownership, they will replace it with a brand new piece at no cost to you.

From year 10 on, if a manufacturing flaw or materials failure is confirmed, they will repair and re-cover your furniture, or replace your Albany Park furniture, waiving all transportation expenses.

The product must have been used for its intended purpose in order for the guarantee to be valid.

If the product is used for commercial purposes or if the fault is caused by use other than normal wear and tear, then it is not covered by the warranty.

Pretty fair and reasonable.

Albany Park also has a 30 days satisfaction guarantee where you can return the product if you are not satisfied for any reason.

To do that, you will need to fork out 10% of the purchase price, or 20% if it is not in original packaging, for the return to take place. The fee is capped at $175.

I do think that this should be improved though. There are other DTC brands that offer returns at no cost at all, but then again, the quality of the sofas is really good, so it is pretty unlikely you will need to use this.
