Who Owns Hooker Furniture?

Hooker Furniture is a third-generation company that is owned by the Hooker Family from the United States.

The founding father of the company is Clyde Hooker.

Clyde established the company in 1925, and in 2000 he passed the responsibility to his grandchild, Paul B. Toms, who now runs Hooker Furniture as Chairman and CEO.

The headquarters of the company is in Martinsville, VA.

More than 800 professionals are hired by the company who are responsible for manufacturing the home decor items and delivering them to the destined dealer in the best condition and shape.

How Long Has Hooker Furniture Been in the Business?

The first seed of the company was sown by the pioneer Clyde Hooker in 1925.

After working with the company for 40 consecutive years, he passed it to his grandchild in 2000.

Today, it is one of the few manufacturing businesses operating in the United States that is passed through generations.

Each member of the coming generation accepted the responsibility wholeheartedly and maintained the legacy in the best way.

What Kind of Style is Hooker Furniture?

Hooker Furniture takes good care of your taste and elegance and offers a variety of furniture styles, including modern (consider this too: Bernhardt furniture review), contemporary, rustic, English, mid-century modern, and traditional.

My husband and I enjoyed their rustic collection the most.

One of the reasons for that is their rustic itemshas blended in seamlessly with our home and created a relaxed and soothing environment for us.

As we both work from home a lot these days, the style we have adopted works beautifully for us.

My husband can’t bear any sort of ugliness in the room, particularly when things don’t match up well.

Lucky to say, every item we brought in from the nearby Hooker dealer has maintained the harmony of our living room.

Anyone who can’t withstand disorganized rooms must give Hooker items a try!

What Kind of Furniture Does Hooker Furniture Make?

This one-stop furniture store makes a bunch of household items in modern farmhouse and rustic designs.

All their items maintain the sophistication of the house.

Here’s what you can expect to find at Hooker Furniture

  • Side chairs and armchairs
  • Resilient sofa
  • Office table
  • Cushioned sofa
  • Leather sofa
  • Wooden beds
  • Dining stools, tables, and chairs
  • Living room tables, stools, and chairs

Where is Hooker Furniture Manufactured?

Customized upholstery is manufactured by Sam Moore Furniture in Bedford, Virginia.

The majority of leather items are manufactured by Bradington-Young in Hickory, North Carolina.

And lastly, raw material for the majority of products is imported from countries such as Mexico and from Central America.

Is Hooker Furniture Good Quality?

All the products manufactured by the company are made from resilient materials.

To beef up the durability of the products, up. to 16 final touches are given to the items before shipping them to their destination.

Let’s dig in to learn more.

Materials and Design

The furniture fabricated by the company comes in a great assortment.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed his rustic straight-backed armchair and arm-length table.

For side decoration, we ordered Scandinavian-style tables, and we never regretted our choice.

All of the items we bought were made from light-colored leather, which was further molded into a slightly rustic design that went well with the overall look and feel of our room.

My family also thoroughly enjoyed the handsome and sturdy drawers.

All of the dovetailed drawers we installed in our bedroom are made from a strong and resilient material.

The wood-on-wood gliding design of the drawers lasts longer than other poor-quality drawers.

Previously, I doubted the durability of the items, but after having first-hand knowledge now, my anxiousness has long faded away.

The durability is also beefed up by the use of tenon and mortise in the items.

Before packing up the items, all the products go through about 16 finishing steps.

In the final hours, items are coated with multiple layers of lacquer for a beautiful finish.

It’s just WOW!

Ordering and Delivery Process

The company doesn’t deal with the one-on-one sales of its items but rather sells its products through dealers.

We got ours through Wayfair on their online store and the entire process was pretty smooth.

As you might know, we are pretty big fans of Wayfair. (read our Wayfair review here)

You get to see exactly how much and when your furniture will arrive at your place during the checkout process.

If you like, you can also opt for interest-free split payments of 12 months.

Of course, all these are dependent on your dealer, but I would expect Hooker Furniture to work with ones that have a good standard of service.

Product Warranty and Customer Service

In general, all items are top-notch and may last for years.

That said, each dealer will offer their own form of warranty and some would even offer extended protection for a small fee, so it will be good for you to find that out before you make a purchase.

The customer service of Hooker Furniture is impressive as it has a group of professionals who listen to your queries patiently and politely respond to you.

Customer Care Services are available from Monday to Saturday. Feel free to contact them!

Return and Exchange Policy

The return and exchange policy of the items varies from one place to another.

Every dealer has its own set of policies and guidelines that consumers must abide by while making purchases.

Where Can You Buy Hooker Furniture?

Hooker Furniture does not sell its items directly to consumers.

Products are sent to potential dealers who can be contacted directly by checking out the list of dealers present on the official website of the company.

We would opt for Wayfair every single time as we have lots of experience working with them and they have been really awesome for us.

Great service, fair prices, and smooth delivery.

Otherwise, you can search for dealers near you, for example, residents of Arizona, Phoenix can get in touch with Ladlow’s Fine Furniture, based in Scottsdale.

Similarly, residents of Ansonia, Connecticut can contact Safavieh Home Furnishings for buying original Hooker items.

In Conclusion: Hooker Furniture Review

Overall, the furniture is pretty good.

A small bit was not put together correctly by the assembly personnel but it was nothing that my husband couldn’t take care of.

If I had just received the furniture without any issues, I would have given them full marks.

But since we went through a lot just to get our product, I am giving them 4 stars.
